At the November 21, 2022 regular meeting of the South-Western City School District Board of Education, leadership unveiled the proposals for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school calendars.
In the drafting process of the calendars, the district solicited feedback from all three employee union groups and the South-Western City Schools Council of PTA's for input. At this time, the district would like to now engage our families beyond the PTA and the community on their feedback on the two calendars.
In accordance with board policy, "at least thirty (30) days prior to adopting a school calendar, the Board shall hold a public hearing on the school calendar, addressing topics that include, but are not limited to, the total number of hours in a school year, length of school day, and beginning and end dates of instruction."
During this 30-day review period (now through December 21, 2022), members of the public can review and provide feedback on the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school calendar proposals at the links below. District Classified Services Director Mr. Matt DeCastro will aggregate stakeholder feedback from the community on the calendars before they go to the Board of Education for a vote in early January.
