Summer School Information

Summer is fast approaching. This is the time of year parents and students begin thinking of summer school. Summer school is an optional self-supporting program which is available to middle school and high school students. Minimum enrollment is required for classes to be offered. Registration is open now through the beginning of June. For more information, please review the information below and/or contact your child's guidance counselor.

Ohio's State Tests (OST)/End-of-Course (EOC) Summer Testing Opportunity:

Who should test? Students in Cohort 2019, who have previously taken an end-of-course exam and scored a 1 or 2 may retake the assessment on the dates listed below. These students are encouraged to take any/all tests they need to meet graduation requirements in July, rather than waiting for the next test administration window in December 2018.

Details: Students in (7) identified courses (English I, English II, Geometry, Algebra I, American History, American Government, and Biology) are required to take EOC assessments as a pathway in order to graduate. The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) establishes the test administration window.

Monday, July 23 - English I (ELA I) - 8:00 a.m.
Monday, July 23 - American History - 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday, July 24 - English II (ELA II) - 8:00 a.m.
Tuesday, July 24 - American Gov't - 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 25 - Algebra I - 8:00 a.m.
Wednesday, July 25 - Make Up Tests - 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 26 - Geometry - 8:00 a.m.
Thursday, July 26 - Make Up Tests - 12:30 p.m.
Friday, July 27 - Biology - 8:00 a.m.
Friday, July 27 - Make Up Tests - 12:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Westland High School - 146 Galloway Rd., Galloway, OH 43119

Times:
AM Session: Arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. test administration start time (students arriving after 7:45 a.m. will not be permitted to test on this day).

PM Session: Arrive no later than 12:15 p.m. for an 12:30 p.m. test administration start time (students arriving after 12:15 p.m. will not be permitted to test on this day).

What to Bring: Students must present their picture identification (school id, state id, driver's license, etc.) in order to take any test.
